I Need to Come Up With an Interesting Current Topic for an Oral Presentation?

Question by Joanne Stclaire: I need to come up with an interesting current topic for an oral presentation?
It is for an effective public speaking college course and the students ages range from 20 to 35. I need a topic that will reach this entire audience. I thought about the topic: “Bullying in School”, but I’m not sure it’s suitable.

alcoholism, drug abuse, crime and justice system, death penalty, abortion, racism, inequality, Church-state separation, poverty, censorship, gun control, racial profiling, unemployment, eating disorders, animal cruelty, child abuse. Im thinking anything that relates to church-sate separation, gun control, and the death penalty might spark up some discussion
