Heroin + Cocaine?

Ok, I already asked this question on yahoo answers but I have to ask it again because I just came across something really important. Wikipedia says:
“Speedballing is a popular term for the mixing of heroin with cocaine. This is a potentially lethal concoction: the cocaine acts as a stimulant, raising the pulse, but its effects wear off more quickly than those of heroin, which in turn slow the heart down. As a result, it is possible to experience a delayed “overdose” (technically, severe respiratory depression) when the stimulant wears off and the full effects of the heroin are felt in isolation.”
Ok, so what I dont get is… it says cocaine raises the heart rate and its effects wear off sooner than heroins, which slows the heart rate, so after the cocaine effects r gone u just get the heroin effects alone which slow the heart down…. so isnt that like doing heroin on its own?? how is doing cocain mixed with heroin worse than doing just heroin?
