This is a summarized simplification of the liberal freedom broad principle, I cut it out of a letter to someone who believes that liberal freedom is running around doing what you want without considering or respecting others. I posted this in Politics but I think they believe I am trying to mock them when I am not. Can you [pretty please] tell me if I got it right or wrong and how to fix it if it is wrong?
“How can we completely define our freedoms?” the proper answer would be: “We Can’t”; Yet, we can reduce possible offensive actions to the minimum by agreeing and voting as a society on a set of certain actions that are considered offensive to the majority of the people of this PARTICULAR society – and that, Alia, is liberal freedom simplified.
So when X community agrees that nudity is OK then it is a part of your freedom and when X community agrees that nudity is not OK then it is not a part of your freedom. Even within freedoms lie more restrictions, like the freedom of speech or freedom of sexuality or freedom of religious beliefs and so on, it all comes down to what the majority of the people of the community agree to.
